The separation of Dalljiet Kaur from her Kenya-based husband, Nikhil Patel, has been in the news over the past two months. Nikhil attributed their split to cultural differences and confirmed their separation. Nikhil also stated that he would not tolerate any further harassment from her and threatened legal action. Amid all this, Dalljiet has returned to Nairobi, prompting many to question her motives for the visit.
In a recent Instagram story, Dalljiet shared a photo of herself with friends at a Nairobi restaurant. She appeared relaxed, dressed in a black outfit, and enjoying the company of her "girl squad." The post, tagged with the location as Nairobi, Kenya, included the caption, "When you meet your girl squad."
Dalljiet posted a wedding video and then deleted
This unexpected trip has sparked rumours about a possible reunion between Dalljiet and Nikhil. Just a few days prior, Dalljiet posted a video celebrating their "1-year and 3-month wedding anniversary," which featured moments from their wedding, haldi ceremony, and reception. In the video, Nikhil’s daughter from his previous marriage praised Dalljiet, expressing her happiness about her father's remarriage. Dalljiet later deleted the video.
Nikhil threatens legal action against Dalljiet
Referring to the wedding video that Dalljiet shared on Instagram and deleted soon after, Nikhil told ETimes "Sharing pictures and video footage without consent of those involved, particularly in the case of children, who are always a vulnerable group in society and who always require protection of the law, is illegal and negligent.”
He also said that his legal team would take "the sternest legal action available against Dalljiet should she continue with her unlawful actions."
“As a normal citizen of the world, it is very disturbing to see how the gaps in online protection laws, both in India and globally, can, and are, often exploited by those who choose to gain cheap media attention through careless actions that place innocent children and women at risk,” he was quoted as saying by ETimes.
