Bigg Boss 14: Jaan Kumar Sanu's father Kumar Sanu finally opened up on his son's remark, which took a political turn and irked the MNS and the Shiv Sena.
New Delhi: Salman Khan's 'Bigg Boss 14', which was launched on October 3, landed in trouble after Jaan Kumar Sanu asked his fellow contestants Rahul Vaidya and Nikki Tamboli to not speak in Marathi. His remark didn't go down well with the Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), who threatened to stop the shoot of the show if the singer and makers didn't issue an apology.

Colors channel, which airs the show, promised to remove the said comment from the future broadcasts of 'Bigg Boss 2020'. In its letter addressed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the network apologised for hurting the sentiments of the people.
Jaan's Father Kumar Sanu Opens On Up His Son's Bigg Boss Controversy
Playback singer Kumar Sanu, while talking to a leading daily, opened up about the controversy surrounding his son Jaan. He said that he asked Jaan to not participate in the popular reality show due to its controversial nature. He added that he is in touch with his ex wife Rita Bhattacharya and his three sons but reiterated that they take their own decisions. The 'King of Melody' condemned Jaan's remark and said that it was wrong on his part to speak about the language. He called Mumbai his 'Yashoda Maa' and said that the city has provided him livelihood, name and fame. "Jaan ne anjaane mein Marathi bhasha ke kiye bola and woh sarasar galat hai. I sincerely believe that if Bengal is my Devki Maa who has given birth to me, Mumbai is my Yashoda Maa who has given me my livelihood, mujhe rozi-roti di, man-samman diya. Mai Maa Mumba Devi mein aastha rakha hu kyuki mera manna hai yaha woh hi tik sakta hai jisko Maa Mumba Devi aashirwaad deti hai. Any artiste of any stature from this place should not talk anything bad at all about Mumbai because this city has given so much to everyone. Mumbai ne bahoto ki jindagi banayi hai," Kumar Sanu told Bombay Times. Kumar Sanu and Rita Bhattacharya, who are parents to three sons, got divorced in 1994. Jaan Kumar Sanu Apologizes For His Comment 'Bigg Boss' called Jaan in the confession room and asked him to issue an apology for his remark on the show. The singer said that he unknowingly made a blunder and had no intentions to hurt the sentiments of the people of Maharashtra. He also apologized to 'Bigg Boss' for harming the reputation of the show and promised not to repeat the mask. Colors TV posted the apology video on its Twitter and Instagram handles. The caption for the post read, "Jaan Kumar Sanu apologies for his remarks in relation to Marathi language made on the Bigg Boss episode aired on Tuesday, 27th October." Talking about the show, 'Bigg Boss 14' recently witnessed the entry of three wild card contestants- Shardul Pandit, Kavita Kaushik and Naina Singh. It remains to be seen how the three new housemates change the dynamics inside the 'BB 13' house.
