Bigg Boss 14: The channel airing the popular reality show apologized to the Maharashtra government for the 'anti-Marathi' comment which telecasted during Tuesday's (October 27) episode.

New Delhi: The makers of 'Bigg Boss 14' have issued an apology to the Maharashtra government for airing contestant Jaan Kumar Sanu's 'anti-Marathi' comment during an episode on October 27.  Earlier in the day, the Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) expressed their displeasure over the comment and threatened to stop the filming of 'Bigg Boss 2020'. Colors channel, which airs the show, has decided to remove the said comment from all the future broadcasts. The channel apologized for hurting the sentiments the people of the state in its letter, which was addressed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddav Thackeray. “We hereby apologise if we have inadvertently hurt the feelings of the people of Maharashtra due to the broadcast of the said comment in relation to Marathi language. We value the audience and the patronage of the Marathi speaking audience and respect all languages of India in the same manner,” the makers said. Colors TV Issues Statement On Social Media

The channel also shared a statement on its Twitter and Instagram handles and said that it didn't wish to hurt the sentiments of the people. "We at Colors apologise for the remarks in relation to Marathi language made on the Bigg Boss episode aired on Tuesday, 27th October. We had no intentions of hurting sentiments of the people of Maharashtra," the statement read.

What Jaan Kumar Sanu Said To Nikki Tamboli?

Playback singer Kumar Sanu's son Jaan Kumar Sanu reportedly asked Rahul Vaidya and Nikki Tamboli to not speak in Marathi on the show. He also asked his co-contestant Nikki to speak in Hindi. Jaan's comment didn't go down well with MNS film workers’ union chief Ameya Khopkar, who threatened to take action against the singer for disrespecting the language.
Talking about the show, four contestants including Jaan Kumar Sanu, Rahul Vaidya, Pavitra Punia and Nikki Tamboli have been nominated for elimination this week. Three wild card contestants- Kavita Kaushik, Naina Singh and Shardul Pandit have also made their entry. Stay tuned for more updates!
