After Mughal-E-Azam, Aamir Khan’s Dangal to be remade on Colors TV?
New Delhi: Aamir Khan starrer Dangal is not only one of the most critically acclaimed movies in Bollywood but also the highest grossing Hindi film till the date. The Nitish Tiwari directorial which was based loosely on the life of Phogat family created ripples at the box office when it was released in 2016. The biographical sports drama film focused on the story of Mahavir Phogat, who trained his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become world class wrestlers.
Grapevines have been buzzing with the rumours that the hugely successful film will be remade as a TV show for Colors channel. Yes you read that right.
Contiloe Pictures, the makers of current on-air shows like Vighnaharta Ganesha and Tenali Rama are set to helm a project that will be on the lines of Dangal, a report in Tellychakkar suggested.

A source close to the project informed the portal that Abhimanyu Singh, the head honcho of Contiloe, is keeping a close eye on the grand project. The show is in initial stages, the report added.
The shooting for the upcoming show will take place in the exteriors of Mumbai in Amgaon, the report said. The casting for the project is yet to commence.
Interestingly, Contiloe is currently producing the horror show Kaun Hai for Colors. It has earlier produced Veer Shivaji and Chakravartin Ashok Samrat for the channel.
On a related note, Colors TV will also air the television remake of Mughal-E-Azam. The historical saga will reportedly star Shaheer Sheikh in the role of Salim.
