Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: 'Medal For Excellence In Investigation' Awarded To NCB Officer Who Probed Drug Case Related To SSR Death
KPS Malhotra, has worked in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and was also heading the SIT that probed the drugs case related to the death of Sushant Rajput.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday awarded ‘Medal for Excellence in Investigation 2021' to KPS Malhotra, working as DCP, CP Secretariat in Delhi who also headed the SIT probe into the infamous Bollywood drugs case.
KPS Malhotra, has worked in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and was also heading the SIT that probed the drugs case related to the death of Sushant Rajput.
Besides, Malhotra the Home Minister also awarded the medals to six Delhi Police personnel - Inspector Satish Chander Sharma (Posthumously), ACP Sandeep Lamba, Women Inspector Domnica Purty, Inspector Amaleshwar Kumar Rai, Inspector Gurmeet Singh Kataria and Inspector Virender Singh.
Sameer D Wankhede the Zonal Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai, who has been working on the drug case related to Sushant Singh Rajput death case, has also been awarded a 'Medal for Excellence in Investigation'.
Wankhede and his team have been spearheading the investigation into the drugs racket in Bollywood since September 2020.
The NCB working under Wankhede and his team also questioned several Bollywood A-listers including Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and several others in connection with the case.
The medal was constituted in 2018, with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognize such "Excellence in Investigation" by investigating officers.
Meanwhile in the latest update related to the drug case, a special NDPS court denied bail to SSR's flatmate, Siddharth Pithani, who was arrested by the NCB in May this year from Hyderabad.
