Supriya Pathak Recalls Being ‘Always Little Short of Money' While Buying Home in Mumbai
Supriya Pathak remembered the time she and her husband actor Pankaj Kapur were looking for a house to buy in Mumbai.
New Delhi: Supriya Pathak is one of the greatest actors in the Hindi Film Industry and it is always a treat to watch her on screen. The actor will now be seen in web series Home Shanti opposite Manoj Pahwa. In the series, she plays a retired school principal.
The series is about a normal middle-class family and their journey to build their own house – their dream home. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Supriya Pathak remembered the time she and her husband actor Pankaj Kapur were looking for a house to buy in Mumbai and were always a little short of money. It was a struggle that we went through for so many years.
“I remember when I and Pankaj ji were looking for a house. It was always the case that we were just a little bit short of money. It was a continuous struggle that we went through for so many years. My father-in-law used to say that we must not go for a rented house. It’s better to pay instalments for a home loan than paying rent for a house which is not yours. When we took a loan, whatever money could have gone into rent, we paid that much in instalments. The house becomes such an important identity of yours because we all struggle to get it. If we get it easily, we won’t understand its value. It could never be affordable so we were just focussing on a likeable place,” Supriya Pathak told Hindustan Times.
When asked whether she thinks she got her dream house, Supriya said she thinks the home she lives in now is quite close to her idea of a dream home.
Supriya Pathak and Pankaj Kapur’s daughter Sanaah recently got married to Seema and Manoj Pahwa’s son Mayank in an intimate ceremony.
