Pawan Kalyan Takes Pay Cut For Hari Hara Veera Mallu? Actor Breaks Silence On Remuneration
After years of delays, "Hari Hara Veera Mallu" starring Pawan Kalyan, now Andhra Pradesh's Deputy CM, has released. Kalyan, who reportedly took a reduced fee, is actively promoting the film

After over five years of delays, multiple changes in the crew, and lead actor Pawan Kalyan taking time off to contest the Andhra Pradesh elections — eventually becoming the state’s Deputy CM — Hari Hara Veera Mallu has finally released. The period action drama hit screens on July 24, 2025.
Pawan Kalyan's Fees For Hari Hara Veera Mallu
In the run-up to the release, Pawan Kalyan addressed speculation about his fee for Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
While trade circles suggest that the actor accepted a reduced remuneration of ₹11–20 crore for the film — significantly less than the ₹50 crore he reportedly took for his last release Bro — Pawan hinted that he hasn’t settled on any payment yet.
“Because even my remuneration for this… (laughs). I don’t know, I’ll consider it if it may become a hit tomorrow. My idea is that the film should be released first and do well to safeguard the producer,” he said.
Why Pawan Kalyan Is Actively Promoting the Film
Known for shying away from movie promotions, Pawan explained why he made an exception for HHVM.
“These are extenuating circumstances. I usually don’t promote my films, and I feel producers have suffered because of me. First, there was Corona, a natural disaster and a man-made disaster due to politics. I now feel some sort of responsibility towards promoting films that have been delayed,” he shared.
This isn’t the first time Pawan has said that his active involvement in promoting the film stems from a sense of responsibility towards producer AM Rathnam.
About Hari Hara Veera Mallu
Directed initially by Krish and later taken over by Rathnam’s son Jyothi Krisna, Hari Hara Veera Mallu features Pawan Kalyan as the titular outlaw. The film also stars Nidhhi Agerwal as Panchami, a dancer, and Bobby Deol as Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
The first installment, “HHVM: Part 1 — Sword vs Spirit,” will set up the story, while the sequel is expected to go on floors depending on the box office performance of this film.
