Tamil star Dhanush had recently filed a lawsuit against Nayanthara and her husband, Vignesh Sivan, over the use of footage from his production film 'Naanun Rowdy Dhaan' in their Netflix docu-drama, 'Nayanthara: Beyond Fairytale'. In an interaction with Hindustan Times, Nayanathara's lawyer shared that they have formally responded to Dhanush's legal notice, asserting that no copyright laws have been violated in the use of visuals.
The lawyers who are representing Nayanthara and husband Vignesh Sivan and their production house told Hindustan Times, "Our response is that there is no infringement or violation because what has been utilised by us in the docu series is not part of behind-the-scenes (from the film). The same is part of personal library, Therefore this is not infringement.”

The conflict started when Nayanthara took to Instagram to accuse Dhanush of pressuring her and preventing her from including footage from their 2015 movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her documentary. Nayanthara claimed that after she edited the documentary to remove any scenes from the film, Dhanush sent her a legal notice demanding ₹10 crore for the use of just three seconds of behind-the-scenes footage.
The lawyer also shared that the next hearing of the case will happen in the Madras High Court on Monday, most probably.
