HIT 4 Officially Announced At The End Of HIT 3: Know Who's Taking Over From Nani, Adivi Sesh & Vishwak Sen

HIT: The Third Case hits theatres with Nani in the lead. Tamil actor Karthi joins the franchise as ACP Veerappan for HIT 4. Here's everything you need to know.

'HIT: The Third Case', starring Nani, Srinidhi Shetty, and Prateik Babbar, and directed by Sailesh Kolanu, was released in theatres on May 1, 2025. The film is the third installment in the HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) franchise and follows SP Arjun Sarkaar (Nani) as he solves a gruesome series of murders. The movie ends with a big surprise — the official announcement of 'HIT: The Fourth Case' through a special cameo, setting up the next chapter in the franchise.

HIT: The Fourth Case Details

After Arjun wraps up what he had started in 'HIT 3' in a neat, albeit bloody, bow, director Sailesh Kolanu wastes no time laying the foundation for 'HIT 4'. Tamil actor Karthi is officially introduced as ACP Veerappan at the end of the film, making him the first non-Telugu actor to lead the franchise. In a clever, meta scene, Veerappan assures the audience that he’s bilingual — just in case anyone doubts his fluency in Telugu.

The closing moments of 'HIT 3' hint that Veerappan already has a fresh murder mystery to tackle in 'HIT 4', teasing an intense continuation of the crime-thriller saga.

Karthi stepping into the role of a police officer isn’t new territory. He previously portrayed the memorable DSP Rathnavel Pandian in Siruthai (2011), the Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster Vikramarkudu (2006). He also played a police officer in Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017) and Sardar (2022). Currently, he is filming Sardar 2, reprising his role from the successful spy-thriller.

About the HIT film series

HIT is a Telugu-language series of crime thriller films created and directed by Sailesh Kolanu. The first installment, 'HIT: The First Case', released on February 28, 2020, was a critical and commercial success. It was followed by 'HIT: The Second Case', in which Adivi Sesh replaced Vishwak Sen in the lead role.

As of 2025, the HIT franchise ranks as the 13th highest-grossing Telugu film series globally. After the overwhelming response to HIT: The First Case, actor-producer Nani officially announced a sequel in February 2021. Sailesh Kolanu has helmed all three installments, ensuring continuity in storytelling. HIT: The Third Case stars Nani as Arjun Sarkaar alongside Srinidhi Shetty, and now paves the way for HIT 4, with Karthi set to take the lead.
