Allu Arjun’s Father On Their Home Being Vandalised: 'Now Is The Time To Practice Restraint'
The Hyderabad residence of popular Telugu actor Allu Arjun was vandalised on Sunday by individuals claiming to be part of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC).
The Hyderabad residence of popular Telugu actor Allu Arjun was vandalised on Sunday by individuals claiming to be part of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC). The protest stemmed from demands for financial assistance for the family of Revathi, a victim of the stampede that occurred during the screening of Arjun’s recent film, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.
Allu Arjun's father reacts to the vandalism
Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, addressed the media outside their Jubilee Hills home after the attack, condemning the actions. “Everyone has seen what happened at our house today. But it is time for us to act accordingly. Now is not the right time for us to react to anything,” he was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
Providing an update, Aravind added, “The police have taken in the offenders and filed a case against them. The police are ready to take away anyone else who comes here to create a ruckus. No one should encourage incidents like these.”
Stressing the importance of restraint, Aravind stated, “I will not react just because the media is here. Now is the time to practice restraint. The law will take its own course.”
Protestors vandalise Allu Arjun's residence
During the attack, protesters broke flower pots and pelted tomatoes at the property, demanding that Allu Arjun provide support to the victim’s family. A protester voiced their grievances to the media, saying, “We demand that Allu Arjun take care of the late Revathi’s family. Why did so many film personalities visit him when he came out of jail after being there for six months, but none of them cared when a woman died?”
Arjun’s children, Ahaan and Arha, who were present during the incident, were moved to their maternal uncle’s residence for safety.
The incident and what followed after
The tragic incident unfolded on December 4, when Allu Arjun visited Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The visit led to a stampede-like situation, resulting in the death of Revathi and leaving her young son hospitalised in critical condition.
The actor was arrested on December 13 in connection with the incident but was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court the following day.
Adding to the controversy, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently accused Allu Arjun of being aware of Revathi’s death while still at the theatre, a claim supported by the state police. However, Arjun has maintained that he only learned of the tragedy the next day.
