Sonam Kapoor Revisits ‘Saawariya’ Days; Celebrates 13 Years In Bollywood

New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with the 2007 film ‘Saawariya’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor. This romantic film is based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's 1848 short story ‘White Nights’ and has been directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This was also the first Bollywood film to receive a North American release by a Hollywood studio. ‘Saawariya’ was earlier made as ‘Chhalia’ starring Raj Kapoor, Nutan and Rehman in the lead roles as this 1960 film was also loosely based on the short story ‘White Nights’. Halloween 2020: Priyanka Chopra, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonam Kapoor And Others Reveal Their Spooky Side Celebrating 13 years of ‘Saawariya’, the lead actress of movie Sonam Kapoor took to her social media and revisited her days from the movie. The ‘Thank You’ actress shared a picture of her and Ranbir Kapoor and wrote, “13 years ago I debuted with Saawariya. Each and every moment in this industry has been a blessing. The good bad and ugly has all been intensely cinematic. Thank you India and thank you to each and every filmmaker who believed in me. I’ve been blessed to have worked with the best who’ve pushed me to give my best.”

Sonam also shared a video reminiscing her days in Bollywood till now. The video features her in all the different roles she has portrayed throughout her career. Sharing the video, her caption read, “#13yearsofSonam I have re-entered my teens, you guys! Thirteen years of being on set, playing various characters, sinking my teeth into complex roles, doing press junkets, attending parties, winning awards, working with some of the most prolific people in the industry -- this journey has been one of the most gratifying, fruitful and beautiful ones that I’ve taken. I want to take this moment to thank all my directors, producers, crewmates, colleagues and most of all, my fans, for being as supportive, excited and happy for me. From Saawariya to Blind, over the years, nothing has changed for me. Beyond grateful for this life, opportunity and love! Love you guys!”
