New Delhi: Last month, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated multipurpose cinema halls in the twin south Kashmir districts of Pulwama and Shopian. Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir inaugurated Kids Festival accompanied by a Bollywood film director, DDC Shopian, SSP Shopian and other dignitaries. 

The Kids Festival has been organised at Jadooz Media Solutions Private Limited and the Divisional commissioner Kashmir inaugurated Shopians' First Big screen (Cinema and Cultural Hub) which would be used for cultural, Education, Sports and movie purposes. 

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole was accompanied by DC Shopian, Sachin Kumar,  SSP Shopian, Ms Tanushree and the director of 'Betab' super hit movie, Rahul Rawail.

The first movie on the screen was ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and the kids got great entertainment on the big theatre screen. The students and youth from the Shopian got their first experience of watching a Bollywood movie on the big screen in their own town.

The Bollywood Director Rahul Rawail said that It is a very positive and Green signal of Development and it would also provide Shopian youth with an opportunity to go into the field of acting and Bollywood. 

Furthermore, he praises the beauty and behaviour of Kashmir and said that there is no change in behaviour as well as in the attitude of Kashmiris since when he shot ‘Betab’ movie in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Rahul Nehra owner of Cinema said that it will play a very important role in education, art and building the confidence of Kashmiri Youths besides sports activities.

The theatres in the Valley had shut in 1990 due to the rise in militancy. From the period between 1990 and 2018, there were efforts to restart the theatres but all in vain. The setting up of a multiplex in Kashmir, which has seen terrorism for a long time from the other side of the border, comes three years after the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
