Gauri Khan’s upscale Mumbai restaurant, Torii, has quickly become a favourite spot for food enthusiasts and celebrities alike — but it holds an extra special place in the hearts of her own family.
In an interview with SCREEN, the restaurant’s head chef, Stefan Gadit, revealed some delightful insights about how the Khan family enjoys their time at Torii — and the thoughtful touches that make their visits extra comfortable.
Private Entry For SRK and Kids At Gauri's Restaurant
Chef Stefan shared that Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri, and their children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam frequently visit the restaurant or order food at home when they wish to indulge privately. To ensure they have complete privacy away from the crowd and paparazzi, Torii has a secret doorway exclusively for them.
"Not everybody has access to the secret doorway; it’s for the Khans," Stefan said, adding that only a few other celebrities can use this discreet entry besides the family.
Family Favourites on the Menu
The chef also spilled the beans on the Khan family’s favourite dishes at Torii. Shah Rukh Khan loves the restaurant’s juicy lamb chops, while Gauri Khan enjoys the comforting flavours of their Thai curry. Their youngest, AbRam, has developed a particular fondness for the sushi and often requests it even when dining at home.
Suhana and Aryan, meanwhile, are regulars at Torii too — frequently hanging out there with their friends and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant also recently served as the venue for an intimate celebration for Shah Rukh’s longtime manager Pooja Dadlani’s birthday, adding yet another cherished memory to the place.
SRK's Work Front
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan, who delivered three major hits in 2023 — Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki — is currently filming his next big project titled King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is extra special for the family, as it marks the theatrical debut of his daughter Suhana Khan, who recently made her acting debut in Netflix’s The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar. Abhishek Bachchan is also part of the film’s cast.
Gauri’s stylish venture, Torii, opened its doors last year on Valentine’s Day and was even featured on the reality series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, where celebrity friends like Sussanne Khan, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Neelam Kothari, and Seema Sajdeh attended the glamorous launch.
