Amid 'Sardaar Ji 3' Controversy, Fans Spot Neeru Bajwa Unfollowing Hania Aamir And Diljit Dosanjh On Instagram
Neeru Bajwa has erased all traces of Sardaar Ji 3 from her Instagram and unfollowed co-stars amid the uproar over Hania Aamir’s casting.

New Delhi: The controversy surrounding 'Sardaar Ji 3' continues to escalate as sharp-eyed social media users noticed that Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa has seemingly distanced herself from the project. The actress has reportedly unfollowed her co-stars Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani actor Hania Aamir on Instagram.
The film, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Hania Aamir, and Neeru Bajwa, is set to release overseas on June 27. But its timing and cast have triggered outrage online, with backlash centring on the inclusion of a Pakistani actor in an Indian film soon after the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. Amid this charged atmosphere, Neeru’s quiet social media moves have added fuel to the ongoing storm.
Reddit users were quick to spot the changes. A screenshot shared online showed that Neeru was no longer following Hania, a move that surprised fans who had earlier seen her engage with the film’s promotions. Her Instagram grid has since been scrubbed of all 'Sardaar Ji 3' mentions—including the film’s trailer, songs, and premiere-related content.
As of now, her latest post is a video announcement for her upcoming Bollywood film Son of Sardaar 2' with Ajay Devgn.
The only trace of 'Sardaar Ji 3' on her account is a fan-shared Instagram Story from the premiere event featuring one of her songs.
While it remains unconfirmed whether Neeru ever followed Hania to begin with, the timing of her unfollow and content deletion hasn’t gone unnoticed.
All About 'Sardaar Ji 3' Controversy
The backlash against 'Sardaar Ji 3' primarily stems from the inclusion of Hania Aamir, as the film dropped amid renewed tensions between India and Pakistan. Although the producers and Diljit himself clarified that Hania was cast before relations deteriorated, critics and nationalist voices have not been forgiving.
The actor’s continued promotion of the project has invited online abuse, with some netizens calling him “insensitive” and “shameless.”
More concerningly, several cine bodies have reportedly written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging action against Diljit, including revoking his Indian citizenship and banning his social media presence.
