New Delhi: Allu Arjun's ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ was launched in theatres three months ago, and fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel. The movie generated a ruckus at the box office and was hailed as a triumph by critics and audiences alike for its gripping narrative. More than anything else, the item song ‘Oo Antava’ featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu continues to generate interest in the film.

However, it seems that Samantha's fans will miss the gorgeous actress in Pushpa 2. It seems that Disha Patani is poised to take her place as the replacement.

According to a rumour published on Koimoi.com, Samantha would be replaced with Bollywood actress Disha Patani in the next series. Disha, who allegedly declined to perform the item song for Pushpa, would supposedly shake a leg in the second movie of the franchise. This alteration in Pushpa 2 is reported to be the result of director Sukumar's choice to make this adjustment.

At the Critics Choice Awards, Samantha spoke out to the media about how her item song had become a rage. She said, “Not just Telugu audiences, people around the country, have forgotten the other movies I have done, but recognise me for ‘Oo Antava’ now.”

Next up for Disha Patani is Mohit Suri's ‘Ek Villain Returns’, in which she will appear with actors like John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria. Aside from that, she will play an important role in Sidharth Malhotra's ‘Yodha’.
