Payal Rohatgi In Tears Over Violence In Bengal; Comes Out In Support Of Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai: The results of the assembly elections in West Bengal have been announced where the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party won by a huge margin. On 5th May, Mamata Banerjee took the oath of Chief Minister for the third consecutive time.

Meanwhile, there were reports of violence in many places in Bengal. Though BJP alleged that TMC activists were responsible for this violence, Mamata Banerjee's party kept a clean edge. Many people including some actresses have reacted to these reports of violence in Bengal including Kangana Ranaut, Payal Rohatgi and others.

Kangana Ranaut tweeted in support of the BJP after the violence in Bengal. But Twitter suspended her account. Actress Payal Rohatgi also spoke out about the violence in West Bengal and shared a video on her Instagram. She can be seen in tears in the video. Payal also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to save the women who are being gang-raped and molested in the state.

The ‘Bigg Boss 2’ contestant said in the video, “What is the government doing, Modi ji, you are the Prime Minister of our country, isn't it? Amit Shah, you are the Home Minister of our country, are you not? Why are they trying to harm innocent Hindu people, who supported you. You did not come to power, Mamata Banerjee became the Chief Minister of Bengal, but what is the fault of innocent people who supported you.”

Payal Rohatgi also came out in support of Kangana Ranaut in her video after the latter’s Twitter account got suspended. While sharing the video, Payal wrote, “Save Hindus in Bengal @narendramodi @amitshahofficial ji 🙏 #payalrohatgi #savehinduism”

On a related note, Payal Rohatgi’s Twitter account got suspended for the second time last year in the month of July.
