‘Sarzameen’ Twitter Review: Viewers Call It A Missed Opportunity Despite Strong Performances By Kajol And Prithviraj

'Sarzameen', starring Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and debutant Ibrahim Ali Khan, dropped on JioCinema to underwhelming social media reactions.

'Sarzameen' Twitter Review: Directed by Kayoze Irani, 'Sarzameen' was released on JioHotstar with the promise of high-stakes emotional drama and political intrigue. But despite a power-packed cast and a compelling premise, early Twitter (X) reactions paint a mixed picture, with many viewers citing underwhelming execution and a weak screenplay as key letdowns.

While some social media users appreciated the performances, especially Kajol’s, others criticised the film’s pacing and narrative direction.

One viewer wrote, "#Sarzameen had a solid premise but failed to deliver. Weak screenplay and direction let it down. Prithvi, Kajol & the rest of the cast did well, but there was no real emotional connect. Overall, a mid watch with no standout moments."

Another called it a flop: "#Sarzameen – Terrible and clichéd storyline. Superflop!!"

Yet, not all reactions were negative. One X user found it passable, writing, "Good one-time OTT watch. The narrative could have been far more gripping if the execution matched the huge strength of the plot. #Kajol delivers a standout performance – will remind you of Gupt. Prithviraj is impressive too and IAK has improved."

Kajol, in particular, received glowing praise for her emotionally charged performance: “KAJOL is the scene stealer in this beautiful film – after a long time, @DharmaMovies produced a beautifully emotionally driven family film... Kajol takes away the cake by a good fraction,” said another user.

Meanwhile, the film’s slow pacing and lack of tension were consistent points of criticism. "Still waiting for an Ibrahim Ali Khan film that really lands. Prithvi sir and Kajol ma’am do their job very well but it’s not enough. Weak screenplay, weak direction. The movie is too slow," read another review.
