Showik Chakraborty Gets Bail: Rhea Chakraborty’s Brother Gets Relief In NCB's Drugs Case After 3 Months

New Delhi: Ever since Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020, his death case has been grabbing a lot of attention. After his father lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others, the case was transferred to the CBI for investigation. Soon after, ED and NCB joined the investigation. The death of SSR led to the investigation of the illegal use of drugs in the Hindi film industry and the NCB nabbed Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty and many others in this case. While Rhea was granted bail more than a month ago, her brother Showik has been granted bail by a special NDPS court earlier today. According to a report of ANI, “Special NDPS Court grants bail to Showik Chakraborty (Rhea Chakraborty's brother) in a drugs case registered by Narcotics Control Bureau.” https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1334065529535963137 Other than Rhea and Showik, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) who is probing the drug angle related to the ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ actor’s death, has also arrested Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant and a number of drug peddlers till now. The agency also arrested Agisilaos Demetriades, the brother of Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal’s girlfriend who is accused of being involved in a major supplier of all kinds of drugs in the Mumbai city. A few days back, the NCB also nabbed comedienne Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa in the Bollywood drug case. The couple has reportedly accepted consumption of cannabis and was arrested by the agency after their interrogation. The NCB summoned Bharti and Haarsh after conducting a raid at their residence from where they recovered 86.5 gms of ‘ganja’. Stay tuned for more updates!
