Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: NCB Arrests Actor's House Help Dipesh Sawant; Will Be Produced Before Court Tomorrow

Sushant Singh Rajput's house help Dipesh Sawant was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau on the basis of statements and digital evidence.

New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Sushant Singh Rajput’s house help Dipesh Sawant in connection with the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor’s death case on Saturday (September 5). According to ANI, Sawant was arrested for his role in procuring and handling of drugs. The NCB officials arrested him on the basis of statements and digital evidence. Sawant will be produced before a court on Sunday (September 6) at 11am, NCB’s Deputy Director said while addressing the media. He has been arrested under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The fresh development comes after the drug law enforcement agency arrested Rhea Chakraborty's brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant's former manager Samuel Miranda on Friday (September 4) under various sections of the NDPS Act. The duo was interrogated for over 10 hours in connection with the case before their arrest. The agency has got custody of Chakraborty and Miranda for four days, till September 9. The officials reportedly seized gadgets and other documents from their places. The NCB is the third Central agency to join the investigation in Sushant’s case after the CBI and the ED. His case took a new turn when the 'Raabta' actor's father lodged a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty, her family members and others under various sections of the IPC including abetment to suicide. The FIR was registered at Patna's Rajiv Nagar Police station. Rhea moved the Supreme Court and filed a petition seeking transfer of the FIR registered in Patna to Mumbai. The apex court dismissed the plea and ordered a CBI probe into Sushant's case. The CBI has grilled Rhea four times in connection with the case. The CBI officials reached Sushant's Bandra home on Saturday to investigate the case. They were accompanied by 'Pavitra Rishta' actor's sister Mitu Singh, his personal staff Neeraj Singh and flatmate Siddharth Pithani.
