It registered a case against Rhea, her brother Showik, talent manager Jaya Saha, Shruti Modi, and Goa-based hotelier Gaurav Arya under Sections 20 (b), 28, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The link was exposed when the Enforcement Directorate was scanning WhatsApp chats of Rhea Chakraborty in the money laundering probe. Enforcement Directorate (ED found that  there were various chats related to drug consumption, procurement, usage and transportation in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput case. So it sent an official communication to the NCB. It then came to light that Showik Chakraborty allegedly sought a narcotic substance for 'Dad'. Reportedly, the chats did not reveal whether ‘Dad’ was used for his father Indrajit Chakraborty or used as a nickname for another individual. According to a Times Now report, in a WhatsApp message accessed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Showik Chakraborty asked a drug peddler, for the drug for 'Dad'. 'Wanted a boom bro, dad wants... Didn't realise his maal is over," Chakraborty wrote to the peddler. The peddler, in response, said that his 'stock' was over and promised to 'score' the same 'tomorrow'. After series of questioning, NCB conducted searches at residences of Showik and Miranda under the NDPS Act. In the same case, NCB has arrested two people Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit. The Esplanade Court on Thursday sent Zaid Vilatra, an alleged drug peddler who was arrested in the case connected to Sushant's death, to the NCB custody till September 9. Vilatra was arrested after NCB uncovered his linkages with Abbas Lakhani, who has been nabbed in the actor's death case.
