The Hindi movie, starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, is now the second-highest grossing movie in India.

Stree 2 box office collection

Stree 2's domestic box office collection after five Mondays in theatres is currently at Rs 583.35 crore nett, according to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The horror comedy is written and directed by Niren Bhatt and is a sequel to 2018 film ‘Stree’.

Taking to X, Taran tweeted on Tuesday, “Stree 2 remains at [fifth] Friday levels, though the business saw an upswing that day, thanks to the BOGO (buy one get one) free ticket offer. The rock-steady Monday numbers suggest the film is on track to make HISTORY as the first Hindi film to surpass the ₹600 crore mark. [Week 5] Friday ₹3.60 cr (crore), Saturday ₹5.55 cr, Sunday ₹6.85 cr, Monday ₹3.17 cr. Total: ₹583.35 cr India business.”

Stree 2 beats Animal

The highest-grossing Hindi film in India, however, is still Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' from 2023. The action movie has earned Rs 640.25 crore nett in India over its entire run, according to a report by Sacnilk.com.

After ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Dunki’, ‘Jawan’ was Shah Rukh's second movie of 2023. Along with Deepika Padukone making a surprise cameo, ‘Jawan’ also starred Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. The horror-comedy 'Stree 2' has now surpassed Ranbir Kapoor-starrer the Indian collection of 'Animal'. After its release, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie earned in Rs 553.87 crore nett in India, according to a 2024 report by Sacnilk.com.
