Ranvir Shorey’s Car Gets Seized Amid Lockdown, ‘Angrezi Medium’ Actor Tags Mumbai Police On Twitter; Issues Clarification
Ranvir Singh, last seen in 'Angrezi Medium', tagged Mumbai Police on Twitter and revealed that officer in charge said that child delivery is not an emergency.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey took to Twitter to reveal that his car was seized by Mumbai Police’s officers amid the COVID-19 lockdown. He said that he provided the car to his household help so that he could take his pregnant wife to the hospital for her delivery. The ‘Chandi Chowk To China’ actor tagged Mumbai Police of the micro-blogging site and sought advice from them after the officer in charge said that a child birth is not an emergency.
“@MumbaiPolice My car being impounded for taking my household help for his wife’s delivery to hospital. Officer in charge says a child being delivered is not an emergency. Please advise,” the actor tweeted.
When ABP News contacted Ranvir Shorey, the ‘Singh Is King’ actor said that he was present at his home when his car was seized by the police. “I am sitting at Jogeshwari’s police station,” Shorey said at the time of publishing the story.
"I gave my Mahindra SUV to my house help so that he could take his wife for delivery to Indira Gandhi government hospital, Meera Road. When he was returning from the hospital three days back, he was stopped and my car was seized by the officers,” the Sonchiriya’ actor ABP News.
The actor further said that child delivery should be considered as an emergency. “I had provided my car to my house help for his wife’s delivery and now I am facing problems. I hope the police officers will understand everything and return back my car,” Ranvir added.

On the professional front, Ranvir Shorey was last seen in ‘Angrezi Medium’. The film starred Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan in lead roles. The comedy drama had a short run at the box office as the cinema halls were shut due to the Coronavirus lockdown.
