After 'Bareilly Ki Barfi', Rajkummar Rao & Kriti Sanon To Team Up For New Family Comedy, Details Inside!

Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon will be seen together in an upcoming family comedy, which will be directed by Abhishek Jain.

Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon, who worked together in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, are all set to team up again for a family comedy drama. The two Bollywood celebs will star in Dinesh Vijan and Mahaveer Jain’s upcoming film.

Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to give details about the film. He revealed that the flick will be directed by Abhishek Jain. The comedy drama will also star Ratna Pathak Shah, Paresh Rawal and Aparshakti Khurana in key roles.

“DINESH VIJAN - MAHAVEER JAIN JOIN HANDS... RAJKUMMAR - KRITI TO STAR... Producers #DineshVijan and #MahaveerJain's first collaboration - a family comedy - to star #RajkummarRao, #KritiSanon, #PareshRawal, #RatnaPathakShah and #AparshaktiKhurana... Directed by Abhishek Jain,” Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Mahaveer Jain expressed his excitement on working with Maddock Films and said that he wishes to bring back the genre of family comedy. “The film is going to be a path-breaking one and we are sure that the audience has never seen anything like this before. Back in the day, family comedies were a predominant genre and we want to bring it back in contemporary cinema,” he said in a statement.

Rajkummar and Kriti received praises from the audience for their performance in 'Bareilly Ki Barfi', which released in 2017. The movie, which was directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, also starred Ayushmann Khurrana. It managed to set the box office on fire. 

Rajkummar is gearing up for the release of ‘Roohi’, which also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma. The trailer of the film has managed to get a good response from the audience. The horror comedy will hit the silver screens on March 11, 2021.

Rao, who is known for his acting prowess, also has ‘Badhaai Do’ and ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’ in pipeline. His last film ‘The White Tiger’ released on Netflix on January 22. It is the official adaptation of Aravind Adiga's novel of the same name.

Talking about Kriti Sanon, she is currently busy shooting for ‘Bachchan Pandey’ in Jaisalmer’. The film co-starring Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandez is slated to hit the silver screens on January 26, 2022. She also has 'Ganapath' and 'Mimi' in her kitty.
