Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas Wedding: Bride gets emotional during her jaimala ceremony!

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who got married according to Christian rituals on December 1, also tied the knot as per Hindu traditions yesterday at Umaid Bhawan Palace. Pictures from Priyanka’s mehendi and sangeet ceremony are already making the fans go crazy. PeeCee and the ‘Right Now’ singer will reportedly share the pictures from their wedding today. Our ‘Desi girl’ gave a good glimpse of Indian traditions to the Jonas family as she followed all the rituals and customs before getting hitched in a Hindu wedding ceremony. A report in a leading daily suggested that the functions started on Sunday from 8am with a puja.  The ‘Quantico’ actress had her haldi ceremony followed by the chura ceremony. Priyanka’s close friends Arpita Khan Sharma, Parineeti, Srishti Behl Arya tied the Kalide at the ceremony. (Priyanka and Nick at their sangeet) "The functions started as early as 8 am yesterday. The ceremonies kicked off with a puja; Nick was intrigued as he joined his bride for the mauli ceremony [where the sacred thread is tied on the wrists of the groom and bride]. Priyanka's brother Siddharth was constantly by the Jonases' side, explaining the significance of each ritual to them. Priyanka even indulged in a quick haldi ceremony before enjoying the chura ceremony in the afternoon. As per the custom, her uncle gifted her 21 bangles which were bathed in milk and rose petals. Her friends, including Arpita Khan Sharma, Srishti Behl Arya, Anjula Acharia and cousin Parineeti Chopra, followed it up by tying kalide," one of the guests at Priyanka’s wedding told Mid-Day. Priyanka teared up during the jaimala session," the guest told the daily. Priyanka Chopra also turned emotional when her mother Madhu Chopra gave a beautiful speech at her Christian wedding. The Bollywood diva missed her father during her wedding, as per the report. "The bride and the groom wrote their own vows. It was followed by a beautiful speech by Priyanka's mother. PeeCee turned emotional during the speech as she missed her father sorely," the source added.
