Mission Majnu Teaser Out: Sidharth Malhotra Portrays A RAW Agent In The Spy Thriller

'Mission Majnu' is set in the 1970s and Sidharth Malhotra plays an Indian intelligence agent who oversees a secret operation on Pakistani territory.

Sidharth Malhotra will play an Indian intelligence agent in 'Mission Majnu'.

New Delhi: The teaser for actor Sidharth Malhotra's forthcoming spy thriller 'Mission Majnu' was released on Friday. The actor took to Twitter to share the over one-minute-long video, giving the audience the first glimpse of the film. 

The teaser opens with snippets from the time after Pakistan's defeat by India in the war of 1971. In a voiceover, it narrated that the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), a primary government body that gathers foreign intelligence, holds great power. Next we see Sidharth hanging from a train window that appears to be that of a train in Pakistan. 

"Iss Majnu ke kaam karne ka tarika alag hai. Presenting the Official Teaser for MISSION MAJNU. Only on Netflix, 20th Jan, 2023," Sidharth captioned the post.

In a brief sequence, Rashmika Mandanna and Sidharth both appear dressed for a wedding.

Speaking about upcoming film 'Mission Majnu', Sidharth said in a statement, "I'm quite excited about Mission Majnu since it will be my first time playing a spy. It shows India's most thrilling covert mission, which transformed the politics between India and its neighbouring nation in the 1970s. With Netflix on board, I am confident that this incredible narrative will resonate with people all around the world.”

Rashmika Mandanna, who made her Bollywood debut with 'Goodbye', is currently preparing for the release of this spy thriller, her second Hindi feature.

In the Shantanu Bagchi-directed movie, which is set in the 1970s, Sidharth plays an Indian intelligence agent who oversees a secret operation on Pakistani territory. 'Mission Majnu' will be released on Netflix on January 20, 2023.
