Makers Say Don 3 Starring Ranveer Singh Not Postponed Or Shelved: 'Timelines Remain Unchanged'

There were various reports surrounding the much-anticipated 'Don 3' led by Ranveer Singh suggesting that the film’s production had been delayed or shelved.

There were various reports surrounding the much-anticipated 'Don 3' led by Ranveer Singh suggesting that the film’s production had been delayed or shelved. However, Excel Entertainment, the studio behind the franchise, has now issued a clarification, dismissing the rumours. 

The film was originally scheduled to begin shooting in June 2025. While some reports claimed the project faced delays due to scheduling conflicts within the team, the production house has firmly denied any such claims.

Don 3 not delayed or shelved 

Addressing the rumours, a spokesperson from Excel Entertainment released an official statement that read, “The makers and Ranveer Singh are on the same page that the timelines of Don 3 remain unchanged. Any such news of postponement is not true.” 

The production team also spoke about its commitment to delivering a film worthy of the iconic franchise, “With the timelines firmly in place, the mandates for Don 3 remain ambitious -- delivering a cinematic spectacle that lives up to the franchise’s legacy while setting new benchmarks.”

In August 2023, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar confirmed that Ranveer Singh would take on the titular role in the next installment of the Don series. A special teaser introduced Ranveer as the new face of the franchise. In the teaser, the actor was seen seated in a dimly lit room with his back to the camera. He lit a cigarette, introduced himself as "Don," and turned to face the audience, marking the arrival of a new chapter. 

Previously, the role of Don was portrayed by Bollywood legends Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in earlier parts of the series. 

Joining Ranveer in this ambitious project is Kiara Advani, who had announced her involvement on social media. Sharing her excitement on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote, "Thrilled to be part of the iconic Don franchise and to be working with this incredible team! Seeking all your love and support as we set out on this exciting journey together (clapper board emoji)." 

While fans eagerly await the official reveal of the full cast, details about the plot of Don 3 are being closely guarded. The franchise, known for its gripping narratives, high-octane action sequences, and memorable characters, promises to continue its legacy with this upcoming installment.
