New Delhi: Earlier this year, Kartik Aaryan’s exit from Karan Johar’s upcoming movie ‘Dostana 2’ made it to the headlines. The news fuelled the debate of nepotism and gave rise to several speculations. Though Kartik Aaryan had refrained from commenting on his exit from the movie, he has once again refused to comment on it in a recent event he attended.
Kartik Aaryan, who is currently busy promoting his recently released movie ‘Dhamaka’, made an appearance in an event. When questioned about his exit from ‘Dostana 2’, Kartik refused to comment on that and said that he has reached this position because of his talent.
Kartik was quoted saying at the Agenda AajTak 2021, “I am not a part of any Bollywood camps. I have reached here because of my talent. And I will do the same in the future. I don't want to comment on Karan Johar's film Dostana.”
Though the actual reason for Kartik’s exit from the movie has not been revealed, it has been speculated that the filmmaker and the actor had a fallout which led to the actor’s exit from the movie. ‘Dostana 2’ features Janhvi Kapoor and newcomer Lakshya playing pivotal roles. After the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ actor’s exit, the lead actor for ‘Dostana 2’ has not been yet revealed.
Dharma Productions revealed in a statement earlier this year, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon”.
Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan has a number of upcoming movies in his kitty. He will be next seen featuring in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, ‘Shehzada’, ‘Captain India’, ‘Freddy’, Vasan Bala’s untitled superhero movie, Om Raut’s untitled 3D action film and Sameer Vidhwans’ epic musical love saga.
