Kangana Ranaut's open letter to Saif Ali Khan takes a satirical turn

New Delhi: The hotbed topic of ‘Nepotism’ is currently prevailing in the Bollywood industry right now, taking several twists and turns each day. Who knew that the Season 5 of one of the famous talk shows “Koffee with Karan” will take such a steep turn to New York. But Kangana Ranaut has left no stone unturned this time through her open letter which addressed to Saif Ali Khan as her reply on the latter’s discourse on nepotism. The IIFA awards 2017, which was held in New York, once again, triggered this sensitive issue in front of the global audience. Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan and Saif Ali Khan poked Kangana Ranaut and quoted “Nepotism Rocks”. “Bole chudiyaan….bole kangana" “Kangana naa hi bole toh achha hai... Kangana bahut bolti hai” However, where an apology came from Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar promised to not speak out about nepotism again, Saif Ali Khan responded in a different prism. In an interview, he regarded the entire thing as a joke and said that he has a slightly different take on it. “People knew who I was because of my parents but that didn’t necessarily give me an easy ride. It’s easy to confuse nepotism with genetics. Maybe there is something in the genes too that makes many of Raj Kapoor’s descendant's actors or Pataudi's cricketers. I think it’s actually eugenics and genetics that’s coming into play”. Meanwhile, Ranaut, while taking a jibe over the issue through her open letter enumerates a spectrum of sides related to nepotism. She draws a margin between temperamental human emotions and intellectual tendencies, where people usually act upon the former one. The letter saw another interesting turn when she started talking about “eugenics”.  Where Saif said that it is actually genes that come into play, Kangana took a satirical turn saying that if this is true then she would be a farmer back home. “I wonder which gene from my gene-pool gave me the keenness to observe my environment, and the dedication to interpret and pursue my interests. So far, I believe that the human race hasn’t found the DNA that can pass on greatness and excellence”. It has been a long time since the Bollywood industry is inflamed with the topic of nepotism. Where the famous Queen talks about the talent and exceptional abilities that form the spine of the contemporary film business, actors like Saif Ali Khan all the way present a different view point, focusing upon the play of genes. However, for Ranaut " the world is not an ideal place, and it might never be. That is why we have the industry of arts. In a way, we are the flag-bearers of hope".
