‘If There Was No Bharat Then What Was Mahabharat?’: Kangana REACTS To Saif’s Comment On Concept Of India

Kangana Ranaut strongly reacted to Saif Ali Khan's ‘No Concept Of India Before British’ comment.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was recently seen in ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, received flak for his comment on Indian history. The ‘Cocktail’ actor, while talking to Anupama Chopra, said that the concept of India was defined by the British. "I don't think there was a concept of India till the British gave it one," Saif was quoted as saying by Film Companion. The actor’s comment came in a recent interview when he was asked about the political subtext of ‘Tanhaji’. Kangana Ranaut, who is known for stating her opinion, expressed her displeasure over Saif Ali Khan’s comment. The ‘Queen’ actress, while talking to a news channel, said that some people have created narratives that suit them. She even questioned Saif Ali Khan’s history knowledge. "If there was no Bharat then what was Mahabharat? Some people have just created these narratives that suit them. Sri Krishna was in Mahabharat. So there was a Bharat, that’s why it was mahaan (great). All the kings of India came together to fight that war. You see even Europe has these small nations. But these had a collective identity, that’s why Sri Krishna went to all these places with Pandavas and the Kauravas, to ask them who will be a part of the war," Kangana was quoted as saying by Zee News.
