Filmfare Awards 2021: Kajol Beams With Joy As 'Devi' Wins Best Short Film Award

Kajol starrer 'Devi' bagged the Best Short Award in popular choice category at the Filmfare Awards 2021.

All eyes are on the Filmfare Awards 2021 as everyone is curious to know which Bollywood stars will walk away with the winner’s trophy. The technical Awards ceremony takes place ahead of the main event and this year was no different. Kajol starrer ‘Devi’ bagged the award in the category of ‘Best Short Film ( Popular choice).

Kajol, who played the role of Jyoti in ‘Devi’, took to social media to share a picture with the black lady along with the heartfelt caption. She can be seen posing flashing her million dollar smile while posing with the film’s team.

The caption for the post read, “And #Devi wins for best short film ( popular). Can u see our oh so wide smiles... soooo happy.” Kajol expressed her excitement by sharing the post on her official Instagram account.

Manish Malhotra dropped a heart emoji on the post while the fans flooded the comments section with their messages. Check it out!

'Devi' also starred Shruti Haasan, Neha Dhupia, Neena Kulkarni, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Mukta Barve. The short film focused on nine women from different walks of life, who shared their stories of abuse. 'Devi' was helmed by first-time director Priyanka Banerjee while Niranjan Iyengar and Ryan Ivan Stephen produced it.

The makers issued a statement after bagging the award at the Filmfare Short Film Awards 2021. "Apart from the excitement of winning, we are also happy that a subject that needs to be seen and spoken about has been watched and loved by millions of people. We need to continue to talk about safety of women now more than ever," the statement read.
