Ranveer Singh Replaces Shah Rukh Khan In Don 3; Makes Stellar Entry In New Teaser

Ranveer Singh has now been formally chosen to play the role of the next Don in the much awaited installment, 'Don 3'. 

Shah Rukh Khan played the lead role in both of the previous 'Don' franchise films.

New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan will be replaced by Ranveer Singh as the next Don. The star of 'Don 3' has finally been unveiled by actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar in a new teaser. Shah Rukh Khan played the lead role in both of the previous 'Don' franchise films. Ranveer Singh has now been formally chosen to play the role of the next Don in the much awaited installment. 

As the teaser begins, the voiceover says, "Sher jo so raha hai vo jagega kab, poochte hai ye sab. Unse kah do ki jaag utha hoon main."

"Kya hai taakat meri, kya hai himmat meri phir dikhane ko. Maut se khelna zindagi hai meri, jeetna hi mera kaam hai. Tum to ho jante, jo mera naam hai. 11 mulko ki police dhundti hai mujhe par pakad paya hai mujhko kon," the voiceover continues. 

In a high-rise building, Ranveer is seated facing away from the camera. He lights up a cigarette, introduces himself as Don, and then turns to face the camera while wearing a leather jacket and boots.

Farhan shared the latest teaser on social media and wrote, “A New Era Begins #Don3.”

On Tuesday, Farhan posted a not on his Instagram account that pointed to a fresh start for Don.

“The time has now come to take the legacy of Don forward and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have long admired. We hope that you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. A new era of Don begins in 2025. Watch this space,” it read.

In the film 'Don', major roles were played Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan.  The film was a remake of 1978's 'Don', starring Amitabh Bachchan. Farhan Akhtar, who is also directing this new franchise, and Ranveer will work together on 'Don 3'. The movie is slated for release in 2025 and is produced by Excel Entertainment's Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.
