Arshad Warsi On Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal': 'Ranbir Did Not Hit Rashmika...'

New Delhi: The film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Rashmika Mandanna and Ranbir Kapoor in the key roles, became one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023. Although the movie was a financial success, opinions among spectators over how the story was handled differed. A sizable portion of the audience expressed dissatisfaction with the film's toxic masculinity and misogyny, despite the fact that the majority of people saw it positively. Arshad Warsi, Manoj Bajpayee, and Aditya Roy Kapur recently discussed the movie in an interview.
In the Bollywood Hungama interview, Arshad shared a humorous insight regarding the roles played by Rashmika Mandanna and Ranbir Kapoor. "In Animal, Rashmika slapped him more than Ranbir hit her," he remarked.
He added, “I look at films as complete entertainment, I don’t want to get preachings or lessons.”
Sharing his views on the film and if he would like to work with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Manoj Bajpayee said, "You cannot just go by the name, it also depends on what is being offered. If everything is good then why not.” To this Aditya Roy Kapur added, “You should read the script, it has to be something you should be excited about.”
The Munnabhai MBBS actor further shared, "If it is something that is beyond something like there are things we like to see but not do. This could come in that bracket. Like one Induji had called me to do Grand Masti, but I don’t like sex-oriented films, I might like watching them as an audience but I won’t do it as an actor.”
On the work front, Arshad is presently a judge on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 and will next be seen in the film Welcome To The Jungle.
