Ameesha Patel Opens Up On Feeling ‘Cheated’ By Anil Sharma Over Gadar 2 Climax, Sets Terms For Gadar 3

The tension between actor Ameesha Patel and filmmaker Anil Sharma has persisted since the release of their 2023 film Gadar 2, co-starring Sunny Deol. The conflict began when Ameesha expressed concerns about how her character was portrayed. She had earlier claimed that Anil Sharma altered the film’s climax without her knowledge, diminishing the key role she was promised.

Ameesha on Climax Changes

In a recent interview on the YouTube channel Jarp, Ameesha was asked about her earlier statement regarding the climax. She confirmed, “Yes, that was true. I was promised and narrated that I would be killing the villain in the climax. There was creative stress between us because the climax was shot without my knowledge. If you noticed, even Sunny didn’t kill anyone. It was just a random climax, unfortunately.”

She further expressed her disappointment, saying it was her character Sakeena’s rightful moment. “Including Sunny, everyone was happy if Sakeena would have killed the villain, because it would have been her revenge logical. She had to avenge her father’s hanging. Anyway, that’s in the past, let bygones be bygones. I know Anil Sharma has a soft spot for me. I have known him for 24-25 years. He will always be family. But, of course, you get hurt and you feel cheated, but then you get over it and move on in life,” Ameesha added.

 

Conditions for Gadar 3

Despite these creative differences, Ameesha expressed her willingness to return for Gadar 3, but with certain conditions. “The film has to revolve around Tara and Sakeena. And this time, there shouldn’t be faith by word of mouth, it should all be contractual. It’s something that I overlooked the first time during Gadar 2,” she said.

Ameesha also admitted, “I felt ki rishta hai pehle se and everyone will do what’s best for the film, there won’t be any other motives or whatever. As long as everything is sorted on pen and paper and you sit in front of each other maturely with differences kept aside, I am absolutely fine.”

Commercial Success of Gadar 2

Gadar 2 was one of the highest-grossing films of 2023, achieving massive commercial success. In addition to Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the film featured Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur in significant roles.
