Independence Day 2021: Amitabh, Akshay, Kangana & Other Celebs Extend Wishes

Bollywood celebrities took to their social media and wished their fellow countrymen on the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day.

New Delhi: India celebrates its 75th Independence Day today (August 15). The Prime Minister of our country Narendra Modi unfurled the tricolour at the Red Fort to celebrate India’s Independence Day. A celebration and moment of joy for all the Indians, August 15 marks the day when our country was finally free from British rule in 1947.

Many brave hearts lost their life for their country in the long battle of freedom. To mark their valour and pay respect to them, Bollywood celebrities took to their social media and wished their fellow countrymen on the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day.

Amitabh Bachchan wished everyone on India’s Independence Day with a post on Instagram.

Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Today as we celebrate #IndependenceDay & salute those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our nation,let us extend our gratitude. Support their families. Be their family”.

Ajay Devgn tweeted, “Sighting the Indian Flag brings just one emotion to the fore—gratitude...Gratefulness to our Defence Forces who keep it flying high, no matter what #HappyIndependenceDay”.

Kangana Ranaut shared a picture on her Instagram story and paid a tribute to the martyrs.

Anil Kapoor tweeted, “A very Happy Independence Day to us all! May our tricolour fly high and touch the sky!”

Kriti Sanon paid tribute to all the Tokyo Olympics winners and posted a special video on her Instagram. 

Suniel Shetty also tweeted, “Where the mind is without fear; and the head is held high …” Let’s celebrate all our colors of diversity as my India, your India, our India, celebrates 75 years of independence. Salut to the braves. Salut to our people.”

Meanwhile, on a related note, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' in March 2021 to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence. The celebrations will continue till August 15, 2023.
