Exclusive: Aamir Khan Reveals He Is Still In Touch With 'Lagaan' Artists, Talks About Their WhatsApp Group & Reunion
Though Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh were seen portraying the lead role in this Ashutosh Gowariker film, each and every supporting character in ‘Lagaan’ had an important role to play for the development of the story.
Mumbai: Aamir Khan’s movie ‘Lagaan’ completed 20 years of its release on June 15. This film was successful both critically and commercially. Not only this, ‘Lagaan’ went on to receive cult status and is one of the iconic movies of Bollywood. As the movie completed 20 years of its release recently, the cast and other team members celebrated the occasion and remembered the memorable stories related to this iconic movie.
Though Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh were seen portraying the lead role in this Ashutosh Gowariker film, each and every supporting character in ‘Lagaan’ had an important role to play for the development of the story. On the special occasion of the completion of 20 years of ‘Lagaan’, Aamir Khan shared some special memories related to it with his fans. It is also been reported that the ‘3 Idiots’ actor is still in touch with every artist of the movie and makes sure to meet them once a year.
‘Lagaan’ Cast Reunites Every Year
Aamir Khan revealed while giving an interview to ABP News that there is a WhatsApp group of Lagaan through which he stays connected with the cast of the film. He further said that once a year, all these artists definitely meet and have a reunion party. The special thing is that they call each other only by the names of the characters of the film. So, for the cast of the film, Aamir Khan is still Bhuvan and Dayashankar Pandey is still Goli.
Shooting Went On For 6 Months In Kutch
In the interview, Aamir Khan also told that the shooting of the film ‘Lagaan’ was done in Kutch for 6 months for which all the actors lived in one building. Everyone used to leave for the shooting location at 4 in the morning. 35-40 people used to board together in a bus. The special thing was that the bus used to leave at exactly 4 o'clock and if someone could not reach during this given period of time, then that person used to miss the bus. In the first week of shooting, even Aamir Khan missed his bus.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan will be next seen featuring in a lead role in the upcoming movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan.
