Mob Forcibly Stops Akshay Kumar's 'Bachchhan Paandey' Show, Demands Screening Of 'The Kashmir Files'

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar whose film 'Bachchhan Paandey' released on Holi, also hailed the film for its gripping storyline, recently.

New Delhi: Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' has become the talk of the town ever since its release on March 11. From politicians to celebrities, everyone is hurling praises at the film. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar whose film 'Bachchhan Paandey' released on Holi, also hailed the film for its gripping storyline, recently.

In a shocking incident, fans of the 'Khiladi' actor were left fuming at a theatre in Odisha, after a mob wearing saffron scarves, marched inside the theatre and interrupted the acreening of Akshay Kumar's 'Bachchhan Paandey' by clearing out the theatre. According to ETimes, the mob forcefully stopped the screening of the film and demanded that 'The Kashmir Files' be screened.

Akshay Kumar recently took to his Twitter handle to praise actor Anupam Kher for his remarkable performance in 'The Kashmir Files'. He wrote, "Hearing absolutely incredible things about your performance in #TheKashmirFiles@AnupamPKher Amazing to see the audience back to the cinemas in large numbers. Hope to watch the film soon. Jai Ambe."

Although this particular incident was captured on camera, there have been several incidents where the crowd is creating a raucous on the theatre premises. 

Akshay Kumar's 'Bachchhan Paandey', that released on March 18 on the occasion of Holi, has only been able to earn around Rs 34 crore so far. The action-thriller also stars Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles.

On the other hand, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' crossed the 100 crore mark long back and has earned a whopping 180 crore so far. The film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits thjat took place in Kashmir in 1990.

The film featuring - Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Chinmay Mandlekar, Darshan Kumar, Prakash Belawadi, Puneet Issar, Pallavi Joshi, and Bhasha Sumbli - released in theatres on March 11.
