New Delhi: Reddit users discovered an unseen video of Alia Bhatt at the Met Gala 2023 in which the New York paparazzi mistakenly thought she was Aishwarya Rai. At one of the biggest fashion shows in the world, Alia made her debut in a fairytale gown embedded with pearls. The footage shows that she made a statement as she carried herself beautifully on the red carpet.
Alia Bhatt attended the Met Gala 2023 in a stunningly exquisite white gown from Indian fashion designer Prabal Gurung. Alia Bhatt wore a beautiful white dress embellished with pearls for her first Met Gala appearance. The actress stayed on track with this year's theme, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," by wearing all white.
Alia accessorised with a pair of gloves and statement earrings that matched her outfit well. The actress looked very chic with her hair slicked back and parted down the centre.

However, Alia Bhatt stopped and posed for the cameras before Prabal assisting her with her dress and she walked off. Reacting to the video, a user wrote in the comments, “They are taking revenge for jhandeya and tommy.” “Ngl if I was mistaken for Aishwarya, I’d be crying of joy. But if I were Aishwarya, I’d be offended,” added another one. Someone also commented, “Paps are same everywhere.”
A portion of the public was reminded by the occurrence of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre gala where Indian paparazzi called Hollywood celebrities by the wrong names. Similar videos had gained popularity. While some referred to Tom Holland as "Makdi Man," asking him, "How will you become Spider-Man," others greeted Zendaya as "Jhandeyaa," and then said ‘Jijaji sharma gaye (brother-in-law is shy)’ to Priyanka Chopra’s husband Nick Jonas.
The Met Gala is an annual event held on the first Monday of May and attended by celebrities from the worlds of fashion and show business. The event presented by the Metropolitan Museum of Art was curated by Anna Wintour, a former editor of Vogue.
