Liger Box Office Collection Day 2: Vijay Deverakonda Starrer Finds Trouble Breaking Into The Hindi Market
Liger Box Office Collection: The majority of the money was collected from the South, and the Hindi market did not do as well as anticipated.
New Delhi: The action-packed film ‘Liger’, which stars Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, has gotten off to a strong start at the box office. However, the movie was dealt a setback because of the critiques that were given to it. According to figures from the Hindi film industry, Liger made around Rs 33.12 crore on its first day of release, but the movie saw a dip in ticket sales of more than 50 per cent on its second day.
Early estimates put the film's second-day earnings at about Rs 16 crore. In light of the growing number of bad reviews, it remains to be seen whether or not Liger will do well. The majority of the money was collected from the South, and the Hindi market did not do as well as anticipated.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Liger opens to mixed response on Day 1... Good/ fair in mass pockets, dull/ordinary at metros/multiplexes... Needs to improve its performance on Sat and Sun... Thu [preview shows] 1.25 cr, Fri ₹ 4.50 cr. Total: ₹ 5.75 cr. #India biz. Note: #Hindi version."
As of late, Bollywood movies have been underperforming at the box office, while South Indian movies have been raking in the cash. Therefore, it was believed that by casting the Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda in a Hindi film, the box office dry spell for Bollywood would finally be broken. The film also has a strong introduction.
Alongside Ananya Panday, Deverakonda stars as the eponymous mixed martial arts fighter boxer in the action-packed sports movie that was directed by Puri Jagannadh. The movie has many of the elements that define a masala entertainer. It has attractive actors like Ramya Krishna and Ronit Roy and it also includes a cameo appearance by the American boxing legend Mike Tyson.
The Dharma Productions-Puri Connects production has taken three years to complete, and it has been repeatedly delayed because of the epidemic. It'll be fascinating to watch whether the mania for mass entertainment takes over the box office again or if the film's bad reception causes it to fall.
