‘Kai Po Che!’ Clocks 8 Years: Abhishek Kapoor Remembers Late Sushant Singh Rajput With An Emotional Note

New Delhi: It has almost been 9 months that the talented actor Sushant Singh Rajput breathed his last on June 14, 2020. The ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ actor was allegedly found hanging in his Bandra apartment. Ever since his death, his fans and the people who were close to him have been trying to come in terms of this loss. Recently, the director of his first film, Abhishek Kapoor, popularly known as Gattu Kapoor, remembered SSR as ‘Kai Po Che!’ completes 8 years of its release today.

As today, ‘Kai Po Che!’ clocks 8 years of its release, Abhishek Kapoor took to his Twitter and shared a video. While sharing the video, Gattu Kapoor wrote, “The thrill of starting this journey with a new team hungry 2 give their best at the dawn of their careers stands most vividly in mind..One cant quantify the love our film continues to receive over the years, neither can we quantify the pain we feel at the  loss of our crown jewel @itsSSR @TheAmitSadh @RajkummarRao #amritapuri @chetan_bhagat @RonnieScrewvala #sidroykapoor #supratiksen @CastingChhabra”

Gattu Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput shared a special bond. The duo worked together in another film ‘Kedarnath’ which released in the year 2018. This movie also marked the debut of Bollywood diva Sara Ali Khan. So, when the film completed 2 years of its released a few months back, the ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ director shared a still from the movie and wrote, “Itni saari yaadein koot koot ke bhari hain, phir bhi khaali khaali sa lagta hai. #kedarnath #2yearsofkedarnath #sushantsinghrajput’

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Abhishek Kapoor’s next ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ will star Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles. The film is slated to release in theatres on July 9, 2021.
