Jaya Bachchan Birthday: Navya Nanda Wishes Her 'Powerhouse' Nani With Throwback PIC, Abhishek Bachchan Says 'I Love You'

New Delhi: Happy Birthday Jaya Bachchan! The veteran actress and Rajya Sabha MP celebrates her 75th birthday on April 9. On the occasion, her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda wished her by sharing a throwback picture on her social media handle. Navya posted a vintage monochrome photo of Jaya to Instagram. The image is a still from the 1972 movie 'Shor', starring Manoj Kumar and Jaya. The actress can be seen wearing a saree, beret, and dark sunglasses in the close-up image.

In the picture shared by Navya, Jaya Bachchan can be seen looking at someone and not at the camera. The 'Mili' actress looks like a true beauty in the vintage picture.

Extending her heartfelt wishes to her 'nani', Navya wrote, "Happy birthday नानी ❤️
The real powerhouse. The glue that binds us all.
I love you!"

As soon as Navya dropped the birthday post, popular celebrities took to the comments section and wished Jaya Bachchan on her 75th birthday. 

Sonali Bendre, Shanaya Kapoor and her mother Maheep Kapoor dropped red heart emojis. Actress Shilpa Shirodkar wrote, "Happiest birthday Jayaji❤️❤️❤️ love and blessings to forever 🤗🤗🤗"

Politician Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote, "Happy happy birthday to my moral compass in parliament too ❤️ love her so so much!"

Jaya's son and actor Abhishek Bachchan also shared an endearing post with a throwback picture from the album launch event of his first film, 'Refugee'. Ahishek wrote, "Not the best photo, I know. But, the emotion is loud and clear!!

In 1973, Jaya got married to actor Amitabh Bachchan. They had their first child, a son and a daughter, Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan, respectively, in 1976 and 1974. Shweta wed Nikhil Nanda, an industrialist. Navya and Agastya Nanda are their two children. Abhishek Bachchan is married to actress Aishwarya Rai and have a daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

Jaya Bachchan made her debut in the Hindi film industry with Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Guddi in 1971. She appeared in numerous movies throughout the previous few decades. She made her mark in the industry with films like Zanjeer, Abhimaan, Chupke Chupke, Mili, Sholy and Silsila. With Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa, she resumed acting after a gap of over two decades (1998). Among many other movies, she has appeared in Fiza (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003).

The following romance drama from Karan Johar, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, will include Jaya. Shabana Azmi, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, and Alia Bhatt also appear in the movie. The film is scheduled to premiere on July 28, 2023.
