White Lotus Season 4 Confirmed: Location, Cast & Release Updates, Everything We Know Till Now

"The White Lotus" Season 4 is in development, potentially set in Norway, hinted by a grant application for a project called "Secret Garden."

The White Lotus Season 4: HBO’s The White Lotus has become a cultural phenomenon, masterfully unraveling the lives of affluent travelers with biting satire and unexpected twists. Created by Mike White, the anthology series reinvents itself each season, setting its story in a luxurious new destination with a fresh ensemble cast.

With Season 3 delivering a jaw-dropping finale, excitement for Season 4 is already heating up. The creators have confirmed its development, and hints about the next chapter have already begun surfacing online, stirring speculation among fans.

Who will be part of the new cast? What secrets will unravel in a new destination? And when can viewers expect the next season to drop? Here’s everything we know so far.

Norway Could Be Season 4’s Backdrop

Previous rumors suggested that the next installment might take place in Japan, Mexico, or Australia. However, a new report has pointed to an unexpected twist—Norway.

According to local Norwegian news outlet Bergens Tidende, Mike White has applied for a grant from the Norwegian Film Institute for a project titled Secret Garden. White reportedly requested NOK 88 million to fund the production.

What makes this even more intriguing is that The White Lotus Season 3 actor Patrick Schwarzenegger previously revealed in a Vanity Fair interview that while auditioning, the show was codenamed "Secret Garden."

This detail now appears significant in light of the new application in Norway, hinting that Season 4 could unfold in a colder, Nordic landscape—a stark contrast to the sun-drenched locales of Thailand, Sicily, and Miami from previous seasons.

Casting Speculation: Who’s Checking In Next?

As of now, HBO and Mike White have not confirmed the cast for Season 4. Still, that hasn’t stopped fans from dreaming. Social media is buzzing with wishlist names for the next ensemble. Among the most frequently mentioned are Catherine O’Hara, Stanley Tucci, Ayo Edebiri, Steven Yeun, and Lisa Kudrow, though no official announcements have been made yet.

When Will Season 4 Arrive?

The release pattern of previous seasons offers some clues. Season 1 debuted in August 2021, followed by Season 2 in October 2022. However, Season 3 faced delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023 and finally premiered in February 2025.

Now, fans are asking how long they’ll have to wait for the next chapter. If production proceeds without interruptions, there’s a strong chance Season 4 could arrive by late 2026 or early 2027.
