Gauahar Khan Supports Ranbir Kapoor After His 'Phailod' Comment On Alia Bhatt, Says People Need To 'Chill Pill'

Taking to Twitter, Gauahar Khan wrote, "Aaj kal log kuch zyaada hi sensitive ho gaye hain . Ab apni biwi se kuch halka phulka Mazaak karne pe bhi paabandi hai, kya pata kaun kahaan pe offend ho jaaye .

New Delhi: After Ranbir Kapoor apologised for the 'phailod' comment on Alia Bhatt's pregnancy weight gain, actress Gauahar Khan has reacted to the said controversy. Gauahar took to her official Twitter handle and asked people to take a 'chill pill' and not become 'over-sensitive'. The actress asked why is it that someone can't even crack a joke with his wife. Earlier last week, during a YouTube live session, Ranbir had jokingly talked about Alia's weight post pregnancy when the latter was speaking about the less aggressive /phailod promotion strategy of their upcoming film 'Brahmastra'.

Taking to Twitter, Gauahar wrote, "Aaj kal log kuch zyaada hi sensitive ho gaye hain . Ab apni biwi se kuch halka phulka Mazaak karne pe bhi paabandi hai , kya pata kaun kahaan pe offend ho jaaye . Take a chill pill yaar, take light, it will resolve a lot of the issues in the world."

After Ranbir was called out for talking about his wife's weight gain, he had apologizsd during a  press event in Chennai saying,“Firstly, I love my wife with everything I have in my life. It’s a joke that didn’t turn out to be funny. It wasn’t my intention. I spoke to Alia about it later and she laughed it off. I have a bad sense of humour which falls flat on my face sometimes. I apologise to those who got triggered by it."

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are the lead pair in the first installment of 'Brahmastra' in which Ranbir plays the Agni Astra and his character's name is Shiva while Alia plays his love interest, Isha. It was during the promotional event for the film that the entire episode occurred.

'Brahmastra' also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy and Shah Rukh Khan in a guest appearance. Recently, it was also being reported that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will be starring in the second installment of 'Brahmastra'.
