Dr. Strange Box Office Report: Benedict Cumberbatch-Starrer Is 4th Biggest Opener In India For Hollywood

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh also took to his official Twitter handle to share the news of Dr. Strange's box office report.

New Delhi: 'Dr. Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' has released worldwide in theatres to much fanfare. India is Dr. Strange's 5th highest income generator for the Marvel film in its opening weekend.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared on Twitter, "#DoctorStrange 2 grosses $12.7 Million [ 97 Crs] in India for the opening weekend 5th highest market in International after Korea, UK, Mexico and Brazil."

In the international market, the film earned $265 million, and the worldwide total is currently $450 million.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh also took to his official Twitter handle to share the news of Dr. Strange's box ofice collection.

"#DoctorStrange is yet another triumph for #Marvel in #India, the much-awaited biggie posts massive numbers in Weekend 1... Non-holiday release... Should stay strong on Day 4 [Mon]... Fri 28.35 cr, Sat 25.75 cr, Sun 25.40 cr. Total: ₹ 79.50 cr. #India biz. All versions," he wrote.

The tally of both analysts predicts that the film has been super successful in the domestic market.

'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' released in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Directed by Sam Raimi, the film is the 28th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the sequel to the 2016 Dr. Strange film.

It reprises the roles of actor Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role. The film also stars Rachel MacAdams, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, among others.
