Ishaan Khatter Calls For Discretion On Actor Entourages: 'No One Person Should Burden An Entire Setup'
Ishaan Khatter shared his take on the growing expenses of star entourages on film budgets, which he playfully tackles in his latest web series 'The Royals'.

New Delhi: Ishaan Khatter offers a serious viewpoint on the subject, while the new web series 'The Royals' on Netflix humorously pokes fun at the growing prevalence of star entourages and their impact on film budgets. Ishaan Khatter provides a more realistic view of the issue in a recent interview. He stressed that stressing that it is ultimately up to the artists themselves to make this choice.
Ishaan Khatter told PTI, “No one person should have enough people to burden an entire setup. There’s a good bit of tongue-in-cheek fun to have there.”
In his own experience, he has found that some productions have a huge support team and others are more minimalist, depending on the set. He said, “My personal experience has been very different on different sets. I've worked on A Perfect Couple, where I was literally my own everything, and I had no person with me. In setups like these, you’ve a lot of... we’re used to a lot of help. It can often be funny.”
The actor clarified that he is “not for or against” the practice, but believes “some discretion from the actor would be great.” He added, “I prefer to just do the work mixed with the team. So, I'm not for or against, but definitely some discretion from the actor would be great.”
