Sidhu Moosewala's Father Breaks Silence Amid Reports On Wife Charan Kaur's Pregnancy
Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur has posted a statement on Facebook neither confirming nor refuting his wife's pregnancy. He urged the late singer's fans not to believe the rumours about his family.
New Delhi: In February it was reported that the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s mother Charan Kaur is pregnant and is expecting her second child through IVF treatment at the age of 58. Sidhu, tragically killed in 2022, was Charan Kaur and Balkaur Singh’s only child. Maintaining a low profile for over six months, Charan Kaur has stayed away from public attention.
Now there are reports suggesting that Charan is currently hospitalised and might be on the verge of giving birth, with rumours swirling about the possibility of twins. Amidst these rumours, Moosewala’s father Balkaur has posted a statement on Facebook. He neither confirmed nor refuted his wife's pregnancy. Instead, he urged the late singer's fans not to believe the circulating rumours about his family.
Taking to Facebook in Punjabi on Tuesday, he expressed gratitude to Sidhu's concerned fans, saying, "We are thankful to Sidhu's fans, who are concerned about our family. But we plead there are so many rumours going around about our family, but they are not to be believed. Whatever news is there, the family will share with you all."
Family sources, cited by Tribune in February, confirmed that Charan Kaur underwent In vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment, successfully conceiving a baby expected in March. Sidhu Moosewala's uncle, Chamkaur Singh, reportedly verified Charan's pregnancy.
Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead on May 29, 2022 in Punjab's Mansa district. The incident took place just a day after the withdrawal of his security cover, as part of the government's efforts to curtail VIP culture in the state.
On May 29, Moosewala left his house with his cousin Gurpreet Singh and neighbour Gurwinder Singh at around 4:30 pm, according to police. He was driving his SUV to his aunt's house in Barnala. At Jawaharke, two cars blocked his SUV. Around 30 rounds were fired during the incident.
Moosewala's murder case involves 31 accused, including gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, with 25 already taken into custody.
