Shekhar Suman Extends Olive Branch To Kangana Ranaut; Recalls Her Relationship With Son Adhyayan

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman were once in a relationship. Recently, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman's father spoke about his son's past relationship with Kangana. In an interview with Zoom, the actor-host shed light on their relationship and said that the two were in different phases of their life. The veteran actor also opened up about Kangana becoming a BJP candidate from Mandi for the upcooming Lok Sabha election.
Shekhar Suman on Kangana-Adhyayan relationship
Shekhar Suman was asked why Kangana and Adhyayan could not be blamed for their breakup in 2023, to which he told Bollywood Hungama, "I mean, these relationships happen, and nobody wants to sort of have a relationship and just break up and move on... They (Kangana and Adhyayan) were happy when they were together and then they went their own way. It was destiny. There should be no ill will or no inimical feelings towards each other. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, things happen. But one should always look back with fondness.”
Shekhar Suman also seemed to be extending an olive branch to Kangana, after the latter joined BJP, a party he supports as well. In the same interaction, he said, "We are not holding on to anything at all. Not the family, not Adhyayan. I think it is pointless talking about it. I said it was just a phase. It happens, and then it's over."
Kangana Ranaut, Adhayayan Suman relationship
Kangana and Adhyayan were in a relationship from 2008–2009. Additionally, they worked together in ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’ (2009).
After a contentious split, Adhyayan even accused her of trying to influence him in a number of ways.
Adhyayan has publicaly said that during their year-long relationship, Kangana was an abusive girlfriend who made his life "hellish."
Adhyayan revealed in 2023 why he shared the reason behind his breakup with Kangana "not in 2009, but in 2017," which was about eight years after their romance ended.
In an interview with News 18, he claimed that he "faced backlash" for discussing his separation in public but he had no regrets.
