In an action thriller helmed by Sujoy Ghosh, Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan will be working together.
New Delhi: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to share the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan, for the first time in an action-packed thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Siddharth Anand's Marflix Entertainment, the film, tentatively titled ‘King’, is slated to begin production in May this year.
According to a source close to the project, directors Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand have been working closely with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan on the film's development. Pinkvilla reported that multiple meetings have taken place between October 2023 and February 2024 to fine-tune the script.
Suhana Khan has been undergoing rigorous training sessions at Mannat, accompanied by her father, Shah Rukh Khan. Renowned international trainers are assisting in preparing both for the action-packed roles. As per Pinkvilla, the source said, “The training is happening at Mannat and she (Suhana) is accompanied by her father, Shah Rukh Khan too in certain practice sessions. Trainers of international repute are coming together to train Suhana and SRK, as King will explore a slightly raw form of action.”
Director Sujoy Ghosh has already begun auditioning for the ensemble cast, with plans to commence filming in May 2024, aiming for a high-profile release in 2025.
While details about the plot remain under wraps, sources suggest that the film will offer a fresh take on Shah Rukh Khan's character, with a focus on emotional depth intertwined with adrenaline-pumping sequences.
This collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter, Suhana Khan, has generated significant anticipation, especially following Suhana's recent debut in Zoya Akhtar's ‘The Archies’ on Netflix. With Shah Rukh Khan's track record of consecutive hits in films like ‘Pathaan’, ‘Jawan’, and ‘Dunki’, coupled with the addition of his daughter to the cast, expectations for ‘King’ are running high.
