New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan earned glowing reviews for his spectacular performance in his most recent movie, 'Jawan'. Within two days of its release, Shah Rukh Khan's action film reached the Rs 200-crore milestone. Now that he has seen 'Jawan', director Sanjay Gupta has hailed Shah Rukh for overcoming many hurdles in his life.
The filmmaker remembered a day in the 1990s when the actor stood his ground against harassment from the underground world of criminals. Recently, Sanjay Gupta shared a story from back in the 1990s on X (formerly known as Twitter). He brought up an incident where Khan stood up to threats from the mafia.
"Back in the 90’s when the underworld bullying of film stars was at its peak, Shah Rukh Khan was THE ONLY star who never gave in. ‘Goli marni hai mar do, par tumhaare liye kaam nahin karoonga. Main Pathan hoon (shoot me if you want to, but I won’t work for you, I am a Pathaan),’ he said. He’s the same today," he wrote.

Shah Rukh Khan appears in 'Jawan' alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt appear in cameo appearances. Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra are among the other actors who appear in the movie. On Thursday, the Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions of 'Jawan' were released in theatres all around the world.
