Salman Khan addressed their relationship during an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, where he also spoke about Aishwarya Rai’s marriage to Abhishek Bachchan.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been married to Abhishek Bachchan since 2007, was once in a highly publicised relationship with Salman Khan in the early 2000s. While both actors have largely refrained from talking about their past, Salman addressed their relationship during an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, where he also spoke about Aishwarya’s marriage to Abhishek.

When asked about allegations of abusive behavior during their relationship, Salman responded, “Uske baare mein kya kahu, sir? I believe your personal life is your personal life. If I defend this, then I’d be denying that someone was an important part of my life at one point.”
The actor went on to express his good wishes for Aishwarya and praise Abhishek. “The best thing to do is to stay silent. It’s been so many years. She’s someone’s wife now, married into a wonderful family. I’m very happy for her. Abhishek is a great guy. As an ex, you never want someone to be miserable after you—you want them to be happy. It’s also selfish because it lifts the guilt off your shoulders. That’s how I feel,” Salman shared.

Interestingly, this old interview clip has resurfaced amid rumors of trouble in Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s marriage. Speculation began earlier this year when the couple attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding separately—Aishwarya posed with her daughter Aaradhya, while Abhishek arrived with his parents, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, and sister Shweta Bachchan. The rumors intensified further when Abhishek did not publicly wish Aishwarya on her birthday.
Despite the ongoing speculation, neither Abhishek nor Aishwarya has commented on the rumors, leaving fans guessing about the state of their relationship.
