New Delhi: Actor Durgesh Kumar, who played the role of 'Banrakas' on the hit series, ‘Panchayat’ recently disclosed a major life event: he bought his first property in Mumbai. The actor, who has been open about his past struggles, posted a snap of his new home keys on social media on Wednesday.
With the description, "Aapna Ghar..... Mumbai main thanks. Babuji Harekrishna Choudhary Aashirwad k liye," Durgesh posted a picture of his house keys on Instagram on Wednesday to commemorate his new success.

Talking about the preparation for this role, Durgesh Kumar told IANS, "Chandan Kumar has written such an amazing script for 'Panchayat' that an actor rarely has to go beyond the source material. Script ko aap 200 baar paddh lijiye, apko character ka sara sur samajh aa jata hai (Read the script 200 times and you will understand every nuance of the character)."

Who is Durgesh Kumar?
An alumnus of the National School of Drama, Durgesh is a talented actor. The 2014 film ‘Highway’, directed by Imtiaz Ali and starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, was his acting debut after NSD. Following this, he appeared in ‘Sultan’, ‘Feaky Ali’, ‘Bahen Hogi Teri’, ‘Sanju’, ‘Dhadak’ and ‘Bombairiya’. His most recent film appearance was in ‘Laapataa Ladies’, directed by Kiran Rao.
Durgesh Kumar's Struggles in the Acting Industry
Earlier, Durgesh Kumar shared how had to take on parts in soft porn films to make ends meet after 10 years of struggling in the industry.
In a conversation with The Lallantop, Kumar said, "You need to be prepared psychologically, physically, mentally, emotionally, and economically to be an actor. I have suffered from depression twice in 11 years. Unless you are not psychologically, economically, and mentally healthy, please don’t come into the acting field. I am being brutally honest about it."
